A comprehensive range of glass lined equipment for demanding industrial duty.
STAHL GLAS equipment is engineered to perform reliably in aggressive chemical environments and under critical operating conditions — from a 63 litre pilot reactor to a 40,000 litre storage vessel. All of it is fabricated, lined and tested at our own works: see how glass lined equipment is manufactured.

Capacities are nominal. Working volume, jacket duty and nozzle schedule are confirmed against your process data sheet at the quotation stage.
Glass lined reactors
Standard and cGMP reactors, 63 to 40,000 litres.
Our reactors follow the DIN 28136 geometry that the industry designs around, in both principal executions — type AE with a removable top head for smaller and mid-range duty, and the fully welded type CE for large-volume service. Where the process needs something else, the vessel is engineered from scratch.
- Type AE (DIN 28136) — 63 to 12,000 litres, bolted top head for internal access
- Type CE (DIN 28136) — 1,600 to 40,000 litres, welded construction for large volumes
- Customized — 1,600 to 40,000 litres, geometry and nozzles to your process
- Jacketed for heating and cooling duty, with half-coil or conventional jackets to suit the service
- cGMP execution for pharmaceutical production, in SG-P heavy-metal-free glass
Glass grade is selected against your chemistry and temperature band — see glass grades and thermal shock limits.
- Type AE — DIN 2813663–12,000 L
- Type CE — DIN 281361,600–40,000 L

Receivers & storage tanks
Horizontal and vertical, jacketed or un-jacketed.
Storage is where corrosion has time to work. A glass lined receiver holds its product without contaminating it and without quietly thinning its own wall.
Horizontal receivers
1,000 to 40,000 litres. Saddle-mounted horizontal vessels for bulk intermediate and product storage where headroom is limited.
Available jacketed for temperature-held service or un-jacketed for ambient storage.
Vertical receivers & tanks
160 to 40,000 litres. Vertical vessels from small day-tanks to full bulk storage, with nozzle schedules matched to your fill, draw and vent arrangement.
Jacketed and un-jacketed executions, with agitation added where the product needs to stay in suspension.
Agitation systems
Seven agitator geometries, up to 40,000 litres.
The right impeller is decided by what you are mixing, not by what is on the shelf. All types are glass lined and matched to the vessel they run in.
Anchor / semi-anchor
Close-clearance sweeping action for viscous products and good heat transfer at the wall.
Impeller
General-purpose turbine action for low to medium viscosity blending and reaction duty.
Impeller cum pitch blade
Combined radial and axial flow where both blending and suspension are needed in one vessel.
CBRT agitator
Curved blade retreat turbine — the classic glass lined geometry for gentle, wide-envelope mixing.
Hydrofoil
High axial flow at low shear and low power draw, for solids suspension and heat transfer.
Twin level impeller / pitch blade
Two stages on one shaft for tall vessels and high fill ratios where a single impeller leaves dead zones.
Thermowells and baffles
Glass lined thermowells and baffles are supplied with the agitation system, sized to the vessel and positioned to give real mixing rather than a rotating body of liquid. Both are available as spares and as retrofit items on existing vessels — see retrofit services.
Condensers & heat exchangers
Disc and shell-in-shell, 2 to 10 m².
Glass lined heat transfer equipment for condensing overheads and for process heating and cooling in service too aggressive for stainless or alloy tube bundles.
- Disc type — 4 to 10 m² heat transfer area
- “Shell in shell” type — 2 to 10 m² heat transfer area
- Matched to reactor duty as overhead condensers or as standalone exchangers
Overall heat transfer coefficients for typical heating, condensing and cooling services are tabulated under technical data.
- Disc type condenser4–10 m²
- Shell in shell type2–10 m²
- Steam / organic liquid345–469 W/m²K
- Steam / aqueous liquid403–520 W/m²K
- Cooling water / aqueous123–178 W/m²K
- Distillation type250–1,200 mm dia.
- Scrubber type250–1,200 mm dia.
- Sections & fittingsCustomised
- Pipe interconnectionUp to 600 NB
Columns
Distillation and scrubber columns, 250 to 1,200 mm diameter.
Glass lined column sections for separation and gas scrubbing duty, supplied with the fittings, bends and interconnecting piping that make them a working system rather than a set of parts.
Where the overhead condenser, receiver and piping are also glass lined, the whole train comes from one works with one documentation set — which is the point of buying it here.
Valves, pipes & fittings
The parts that usually fail first, lined to the same standard as the vessel.
Bottom outlet valves
Glass lined bottom outlet valves in three standard sizes, flush-fitting to the vessel bottom so nothing is left behind in the dish.
- 80 NB × 50 NB
- 100 NB × 80 NB
- 150 NB × 100 NB
Pipes
Glass lined piping in both executions, sized to carry aggressive media between vessels without introducing a weak link.
- Un-jacketed — 25 to 500 NB
- Jacketed — 80 to 500 NB
Fittings
Bends, crosses, tees and custom fabrications up to 600 NB, made to the layout drawing rather than forced into a standard catalogue shape.
- Bends, cross, tee and reducers
- Customised sections up to 600 NB
ANF / ANFD
Agitated Nutsche filters and filter dryers, 630 to 5,000 litres.
Filtration, washing and drying in one closed vessel — the standard answer where an API or a fine chemical must not see the room between steps. Glass lined throughout, in standard or fully customised execution.
- Standard and customised builds from 630 to 5,000 litres
- Glass lined wetted parts, in SG-P grade for pharmaceutical duty
- Agitator, stirrer lift and discharge arrangement to your process sequence
- Supplied integrated with receivers, condensers and piping as a complete train

Flange gaskets, manhole seals and agitator seal components held to your equipment record.
Nozzle accessories
Flange connections, blind covers, adaptors and clamping arrangements.
Agitators & drives
Replacement agitators and drive assemblies for existing vessels.
Repair solutions
Localised glass repair systems for chips and pinholes found at inspection.
Beyond glass lining
ASME-standard process equipment and GMP equipment.
Not every duty needs a lining. Where stainless, alloy or carbon steel is the right answer, we build it in the same works, to the same documentation discipline.
Pressure vessels
Fabricated to ASME standard, with material traceability, radiography and hydrostatic testing as part of the build record rather than an afterthought.
GMP equipment
Stainless equipment for pharmaceutical production, finished and documented to GMP requirements and integrated with glass lined items in the same train.
Heat exchangers & tanks
Shell-and-tube exchangers, receivers and process tanks in carbon and stainless steel, sized against your duty.
ASME U-Stamp and NB R-Stamp accreditation is in process. Equipment is built to the standard today; the stamp follows the accreditation programme. See certification status.
Process piping systems
Piping designed as part of the equipment, not bolted on afterwards.
A great deal of plant trouble starts at the interface between a vessel and the line that feeds it. We take that interface as our scope: jacketed and un-jacketed glass lined piping, bends, crosses and tees, engineered against the same layout drawing as the equipment.
- Un-jacketed pipe — 25 to 500 NB
- Jacketed pipe — 80 to 500 NB
- Fittings — bends, cross, tee and customised sections up to 600 NB
- Supports, expansion arrangements and clamping supplied with the system
- Un-jacketed25–500 NB
- Jacketed80–500 NB
- Bends, cross, teeUp to 600 NB
- Customised sectionsUp to 600 NB
Custom industrial structures
Skids, platforms and structures, cut and formed in-house.
A 3.5 m × 12.5 m CNC cutting bed, presses to 499 MT, plate bending to 2,500 mm × 25 mm and cranes to 25+10 MT mean structural work does not have to leave the site.
Equipment skids
Pre-piped, pre-wired skids that arrive ready to set down and connect, cutting site time dramatically.
Access platforms
Maintenance platforms and stairs built around the equipment they serve and the way it is actually operated.
Structural fabrication
Frames, supports and heavy structures to your drawing or engineered to your layout from scratch.
Specify your equipment
Tell us the duty and we will configure it.
Capacity, medium, operating temperature and pressure, and any cleanliness or GMP requirement — that is enough for us to come back with a configuration, a glass grade and a price.
